Honey Fried Chicken Sandwiches
Honey Fried Chicken Sandwiches feature crispy fried chicken breasts with a spicy honey sauce on a buns. This perfectly crisp chicken is a family favorite at our house. When I first started cooking, 25 years ago, I found deep frying to be very intimidating, but now I feel like a professional fryer. Over the years, I’ve developed loads of recipes to feature these crispy breasts, and these Honey Fried Chicken Sandwiches are one of my very best creations.
The star of this sandwich is, of course, the boneless, skinless fried chicken breast. It is perfectly crispy and juicy and is complemented by the Spicy Honey Sauce, which is a perfect blend of sweet honey, hot tabasco sauce, and creamy butter. Tangy pickle chips, creamy honey butter, and a plush brioche roll complete the sandwich, for a fantastic lunch or dinner.
One of the things I love about this sandwich is that the ingredients are inexpensive, and are things I always have around the house. When I want to save even more money, I swap out the brioche buns for regular hamburger buns, or even white sandwich bread.
The secret to making these Honey Fried Chicken Sandwiches lies in the frying of the chicken. For best results, I recommend using a deep frying thermometer and a cast iron Dutch oven. These tools will enable you to keep your oil at 350 degrees, which is the key to frying perfectly cooked chicken. The chicken only needs to cook for about 7 minutes, so you can prepare the entire meal in under an hour.
This sandwich makes a terrific lunch or dinner. I like to serve it with a creamy cabbage slaw and crispy potato chips. If your family loves fried chicken, I hope you’ll try these delicious fried chicken sandwiches.
